How to keep cool in Summer with high temperatures ?

 


Most people love the warm summer months to enjoy and relax outdoor. Sometimes the temperatures are very high which will be hot and humid can be dangerous. Staying in the hot temperature is not good for the body as well. 

 

Our body can able to sustain the heat upto certain temperature, otherwise it can damage your brain and other organs. We need to maintain the sustainable body temperature to keep ourselves cool when the days are hot.
 

Our human body has its own natural cooling system to keep the temperature in check. Sweating is one of the key to cooling when hot weather or exercise causes your body temperature to increase. when the body sweat dries, it reduces the heat away from your body’s surface and lowers your temperature. 

 

When the body sweating isn’t enough to help to cool down, we are at risk for a heat-related illness called hyperthermia. Hyperthermia can happen to anyone depending the temperature outside and how our body is sustaining.

 

Usually aged people, infants and young children, and people who are ill, obese or on certain medications are especially at risk. The reason due to be more sensitive to the effects of extreme heat and unable respond to changes in temperature within human body.

Few tips to keep the body cool during the summer or high temperature day

  • Get out of the sun and relax into a place with cooler air.
  • Drink plenty of cool liquids, especially water. Avoid alcohol drinks.
  • Limit use of the oven/cooking to reduce the heat within the house
  • Dress for the weather. Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.
  • Apply cold to key points on the body.
  • Shower, bathe or sponge off with cool water.
  • Cover windows with shades, blinds or curtains to keep the room cool
